Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple

An ancient Hindu shrine called Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple is situated in Ananthagiri hills near Vikarabad. This temple is an abode of Lord Vishnu. The temple is situated at a distance of approximately seventy-five kilometers from Hyderabad.

According to Skanda Purana, it is believed that the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple was constructed by the rishi Markandeya in the dwapara yuga on Ananthagiri hills. The main temple of Lord Padmanabha Swamy was built by the Hyderabad Nawab as Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy is believed to have appeared in his dreams and asked him to build a temple. There are regular private transport vehicles and buses available to travel from Vikarabad town to Ananthagiri hills.
